Locally owned and operated, Cairns S.I.M. Trans is a dynamic growing business guided by Greg Sims, who personally has more than 24 years' experience in marine transmissions and diesel engines.

Greg and his staff have expanded into a second workshop which accommodates the spray booth, spare parts department and warehousing facilities that house the many new, secondhand and rebuilt transmissions and diesel engines.

"Our mission is to steadily grow the marine transmission and diesel engines sector and diversify into generators, fixed, marine and portable," says Greg.

S.I.M. Trans offers excellent service and superior maintenance and back-up checks on all the products we sell or repair.

Our new customised workshop is close to all services and is fully equipped to perform most repairs in-house. Complete with a dust-free air-conditioned engine rebuild room, heavy labour - including rebuilds on both engines and transmissions - can be completed throughout the entire year in comfortable working conditions.

Remote work is also part of the commitment to service given by Greg and his team at Cairns S.I.M. Trans. Whether it is Thursday Island (Torres Strait), Darwin (Northern Territory) or Noumea (New Caledonia) - no place is too far to travel to have your vessel or vehicle repaired.
